‘Building On Dreams’ is the LDSA’s main fundraising activity, but it goes well beyond that. It is the annual event giving all of our members, families and friends as well as benefactors and volunteers, the opportunity to socialize, have fun and enjoy good food. Many a great bargain has also been found within our silent and live auctions, door prizes and raffles. Ultimately though, it serves as a venue for us to raise the much needed funds that support our programs and services.

This event was born of the idea that if we wanted to achieve the association’s goals, we needed to create a way to raise funds to do that. In 2003, Andy Loebus and Rose Price took it upon themselves to create it. With the help of several volunteers, kind gifts from the public and private sectors for the auctions, our very first silent auction was enjoyed by many from the basement of a local church. We are happy to mark our 5th year in 2007, with ever growing attendance for what is fast becoming one of the major community events for the areas we serve.
